Transformation (TTT) diagrams.

Non-Ferrous metals together with alloys : Non-ferrrous metals such every bit Cu, Al, Zn, Cr, Ni etc. together with its
applications. Various type of Brass together with Bronze, bearing materials, its properties together with uses. Aluminum

Unit-IV
Dielectric Materials: Dielectric Materials together with their applications.

Magnetic properties : Concept of magnetism - Dia, para, ferro Hysteresis. Soft together with difficult magnetic
materials, Magnetic storages.

Electric properties, Semi conductors together with Super conductors: Energy band concept of conductor,
insulator together with semi-conductor. Intrinsic & extrinsic semi-conductors. P-n junction together with transistors. Basic devices together with its application. Super electrical conductivity together with its applications. Messier effect. Type I & II
superconductors. High Tc superconductors.

Unit-V
Ceramics : Structure types together with properties together with applications of ceramics. Mechanical/Electrical behavior together with processing of Ceramics.

Plastics : Various types of polymers/plastics together with its applications. Mechanical behaviour together with processing of plastics. Future of plastics.

Other materials : Brief description of other textile such every bit optical together with thermal materials, Composite Materials together with its uses. Introduction to Smart materials & Nano-materials together with their potential applications
