UNIT-I

UNIT –II
Stresses inwards Beams: Pure Bending, normal stresses inwards beams, shear stresses inwards beams due to transverse
and axial loads, composite beams.

Deflection of Beams: Equation of elastic curve, cantilever as well as merely supported beams, Macaulay’s
method, expanse minute method, fixed as well as continuous beams

Torsion: Torsion, combined bending & torsion of venture & hollow shafts, torsion of sparse walled tubes

UNIT-III
